Historically, it was a pivotal center for Charlemagne's Carolingian Empire and later became the favored residence for German kings. The Aachen Cathedral, a UNESCO World Heritage site, is a prominent landmark, having served as the coronation church for German monarchs across centuries. Notably, Aachen is also recognized for its thermal springs, adding to its allure as a spa destination. Presently, Aachen seamlessly blends its historical charm with a dynamic modern atmosphere, making it a highly sought-after tourist destination.
